1 Peter 4:1 “Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.”
What kind of attitude are you moving through life with? Does the circumstances of your day control the temperature of your attitude or does your attitude control the temperature of your day?
Scripture is filled with verse after verse about our attitude and mindset. Have you learned to allow “the Word of the Lord to dwell in you richly,” “to meditate on His Word day and night,” “to not be conformed to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind?” What a difference God’s Word can make in your life if you will simply let it…
Viktor Frankl, a concentration camp survivor said, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: To choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s way.”
This also is a great illustration by Steve Goodier from the Reader’s Digest. “Both the hummingbird and the vulture fly over our nation’s deserts. All vultures see is rotting meat, because that is what they look for. They thrive on that diet. But hummingbirds ignore the smelly flesh of dead animals. Instead, they look for the colorful blossoms of desert plants. The vultures live on what was. They live on the past. They fill themselves with what is dead and gone. But hummingbirds live on what is. They seek a new life. They fill themselves with freshness and life. Each bird finds what it is looking for. We all do.” What are you looking for today? The new life of Jesus or the old ways of your past? “Choose life that you may live!”
By His Spirit,
